To use a camera as your webcam, you need to have one that allows you to do so. Below is a list of cameras that can also function as a webcam:
1. Canon Cameras
If you already have an existing Canon camera at home, then lucky you because you can use that for quality video production. Canon has recently released a free web camera software called EOS Webcam Utility Beta, which allows the use of the majority of Canon camera models into a webcam.
Once you’ve downloaded the software, you must connect your Canon camera to your Mac or Windows computer through a USB cable.
2. Fujifilm Cameras
Fujifilm now allows the use of most of its camera models as a webcam through software. All you need to do is download and install the software into your PC and use a USB cable to connect your Fujifilm camera.
3. Panasonic Lumix Cameras
The Panasonic Lumix cameras can now be used as webcams as well. Panasonic has released free streaming software that enables the use of Lumix cameras as web cameras. However, this software currently doesn’t support macOS.
It is always handy to have your camera as a substitute, especially if you want to have the sharpest-looking video during your online meetings or conference calls.
